Wear It Pink Day!

Tommorrow is Wear It Pink day, and we are joining in at work!

As an incentive for more people to join in (And for me to practise baking!!) I have decided that everyone who wears pink and donates £1 to the charity, will get a free fairy cake! (I need to brush up on my fairy cake skills for when its children in need time!)

I attempted at making some pink fudge, but its not set properly, so I doubt I will be able to take it to work! However, here are my lush Pink Fairy Cakes!

I am waiting on the second batch to come out of the oven, and am going to do them with white icing instead of pink! Im quite proud of them, as everytime I try bake simple sponge cakes, they never ever turn out good lol

Some cards from me - At long last!

I havent really been doing any crafting this week, I have attempted to finish a cross stitch cover kit of Eeyore (A christmas design) but still not even finished that! Anyway, some new cards from me!

The first one, I found a christmas tree made of spools of cotton, which I though would be great for a stitchy friend! I have used a piece of A5 red card from my papermill stash, and mounted the cross stitched piece on a bit of marbled green card, attached a few red paper embelleshments, and some of the green ribbon that I got in my Goody Bag, and finished it off with a green 'Merry Christmas' peel off. Not to bad me thinks, not one of my best, but not bad!

The second card, is another cross stitch cover kit! I quite like Lumpy, he is really cute! He is from Winnie the Pooh, incase you didnt know! For this card again, ive used some hammered effect A5 card from my stash, mounted Lumpy onto some purple paper, and added a few peel off stars. I thought I couldnt use this as a christmas card, so its a birthday card. I have added a strip of ribbon that was gifted to me by Lynn, and added a metal/fabric flower.

Next card, I have coloured a Magnolia stamped image using Reeves watercolour pencils, mounted on blue & burgandy card, added a few peel of stars, and some rope ribbon, a bit of sparkle and a 'Merry Christmas' peel off. Not one of my favs again, but hey!

And finally, a Lili of the Valley die cut fairy card! I have used another piece of red card from my stash, cut two triangles from the Merry Christmas backing papers (One blues, the other red and green) and added a bit of organza ribbon. I have added 2 clear zooms, and a Lili of the Valley sentiment to the centre.

Anyway, I doubt I will get much crafting done this weekend, we are meant to be going to Swindon for one of Alex's friends house party! Should be interesting, as he recons we will be driving home at 2am, something which I doubt! I plan to join a few challenges soon as my card stash is getting a little bit bigger, and its pay day on Monday YIPPEE!

Heres a question for all you card makers/scrap bookers..

Do you print off your own background and patterned papers?

I have been printing some off, but I don't think that my printer is the best! (I have an all in one Lexmark printer!) So, I have been thinking, maybe I should invest in some papers OR a new printer...

If a new printer, will have to be after Christmas as fundings aren't so good what with Alex wanting a 'Driving Experience' which is gonna cost in the region of £100, then I have my little brother, and two nieces to buy for. Then my Dad and Nan, and Dads GF, and her kids, then Alex's mum and Brother...

I'm glad my family isn't that much bigger (My intermediate family anyway, the rest of my family is huge on my Mums side!)

Its my nans 70th Birthday next week, and I have decided to get a big bunch of flowers delivered and send down a handmade card. I have coloured 3 images in, and cant decide which one to use! Soo... Which one do you recon I should use?

I personally think the first one is more for a child/younger person... Im really not sure! HELPPPP! lol Please leave a comment on which one you think I should use...

Been busy crafting tonight!

Tonight, i've been quite busy making these:

This one is done using the template for a Rocking card on hammered effect card. Ive used a blue piece of card for the layers, and stuck on a Lili of the Valley die cut which I think is rather cute! I have made the polar bear 'sit' on glitter so it looks a bit like snow. However, im not happy with the finished look, it needs something else... Any reccommendations welcome please! :)

This one I have used red marble effect card stock for the actual card and the layer. I have coloured in the Forever Friends bear using Reeves watercolour pencils and added some glitter. The white fluffy stuff is a thread I bought for my cross stitches but I cannot use it so thought it would look well. I have added a metal 'Made with Love' charm and some peel offs.

This one I have used the hammered effect card again, and cross stitched Santa getting stuck in the chimney. I think its quiet comical and have stamped the card with christmas greetings, and used some peel offs for the sentiment.

I have used red and black card stock (Black for the layering!) and a piece of organza ribbon. I stitched this cute penguin a year ago so I have put him to good use this year! I have embelleshed the card with some little red dots that were gifted to me by Lynn :)

I am making a load of cards this year because I am hoping to get some sent off to a lady called Wendy who sticthes cards for a cat rescue centre where she lives.

Been making again!

After yesterdays Lili of the Valley card, I decided to use some of my new paper and make a couple more cards! Here they are:

This card is a pieve of red A5 cardstock folded in half, then I used a piece of the Lili of the Valley backing paper (Merry Christmas in green/red) then used the same card stock as the actual card to create a layered look. The diecut is of course a Lili of the Valley fairy, and I have used some red/green peel off stars, a piece of red organza ribbon and a metal charm.

This card is using a piece of hammered look A5 card folded in half, and both snowflake papers are from Lili of the Valley, as well as the fairy and sentiment. Plain but effective (Well thats what I think anyway lol)

Been buying... AGAIN!

So I had run out of white card, and decided as we didnt have much to do today that we could take a trip out to Mcaurthur Glen (theres a papermill shop there! as well as loads of others!). I ended up buying 2 paper boxes (I swear they have got smaller since I last went!) and 2 sakura pens ( a white one and a shimmery glitter one). Then we had to visit the Cadburys Shop! Had a good day apart from the horrid weather!

Lili of the Valley Challenge 2 'Nikki's Sketch'

Here is my entry for the Lili of the Valley challenge.

The green card is from my bulk buy at Papermill shop, the green and red starry background papers are from Lili of the Valley.

The die cut is also from Lili of the Valley.

The ribbon is from my goody bag that I bought last week, as well as the 3d snowflake and the red dots were gifted to me by a kind lady called Lynn.

Soooo tired today

It was Alex's last day working with Vodafone yesterday (He has a new job!) and it was his leaving do last night. I dont mind him going out, but its when he comes back in steaming, and wakes me up that really gets on my nerves! So last night, he came in at 4AM! Bearing in mind I dont sleep that good when he is out, and am a light sleeper anyway, so I had about 3 hours sleep! I decided to text my boss and take annual leave today, and stayed in bed until gone 12! Got a few bits to do anyway, need to pay the deposit for our christmas meal, and nip to Asda to get ingredients for my famous 'Oreo Cheesecake' which I have been asked to make for a friends daughters birthday! Hoping to get some cards made later, but who knows!
