1 Card, 3 Challenges!

Align Centre
After a frustrating morning, I thought I would have a go at a couple of challenges and calm myself down! Here is what I have come up with. The photo isnt very good as I have used silver mirror card which shows my reflection!

Challenges:

Die Cut Dreams - Recycle It! (Bling, Black velvet ribbon from smelly gift set!)
Create 4 Fun - Sketch
Stamptacular Sunday - Black, White and Silver

And here is a better photo of my GDT for MAWTT challenge.

I really badly need to sort out my crafting sty oops I mean mess which I am hoping to do this afternoon!

Moving Along with The Times - Use something 'DIGI'

This week over at Moving Along with The Times, there is a sketch to follow and you have to use something 'Digi'. Whether that be an image, paper, or sentiment.

The fabulous Paula from Pollycraft is sponsoring this weeks challenge, with the winner taking home their choice of 5 digi images!

On to the sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:

I love making these easle cards, and as its my Little Big Bro's birthday next month, I thought this image would suit him! The photo isnt very good as the papers look black, but they are actually royal blue!

I just wanted to say thank you to the girls at MAWTT for choosing me as one of their GDT members, I have enjoyed both challenges! So Thanks girls xx

And some rather good news from me! Remember the laptop accident? A replacement is being sent out to me sometime next week! YAY! :)

Anyone for a slice?

Since starting back at Weight Watchers in November, I made a pact to myself that I would try and make a meal (Or bake!) from scratch at least twice a week . Today, I have made carrot and pineapple cake, which is just YUM! I of course, had to take a photo of it (As you do!). If anyone wants the recipe, let me know and I will send it to you.

On to some crafting!

Now these are the cards I made when I had the little accident with Mr. Lappy! The christmas one you can kindof see where the spill was (In the corner of the angel image!).

I thought these flowery ones would make good 'Thank You' cards, and as soon as I am back up and running with a computer, I will add sentiments to them both. They are made using my new flowers! All the way from the USA baby!

This was a different take on my card made for the Moving Along with the Times challenge, using similar papers and the same colours etc.

Would love to know what you all think of them! I have also had a change of blog background - I came across Caths blog whilst I was on UKScrappers, and I just LOVED her layout - So yes, I have been a copy cat! :) Thanks Cath! N.B. Cath also has some candy up for grabs - Go check it out!

A quick update

On the laptop situation!

Claim has been sorted, they are coming to pick the old one up on Monday to see if it can be repaired (I dont think so, not after that much wine was spilt on it lol). Good news is that they replace it along the spec wise rather than what I paid for it (I have only had it since October, and got it on a special deal for £380 as it has quite a good spec, so I am told lol). Hopefully, will be back good and proper by this time next week.

Did any of you splash out in the Sizzix sale? I was a bit disappointed - I ordered 6 items on 28th Dec, and rung them to be told 5 out of the 6 items had sold out..! So I cancelled my order, and decided to treat myself to the CC Designs Spring stamp kit! OK so it was a little more expensive than my sizzix order, but you cant have to many stamps, can you!?

Moving along with the Times - Challenge #29 - Heidi's Sketch

As you may know, I was chosen to be a guest designer on the Moving Along with The Times blog for two weeks (YIPPEE!).

This week, there is a theme and a sketch to follow.

This is the sketch:

The theme is 'Spring', so bright cheery colours!

And as a prize, you could win these fab Fairy Doodle decoupage sheets!

This is my take on the sketch - I am addicted to using this stamp at the moment. I love the way you can 3D the images!

And here is the 3D view!

I hope you can all join in with this challenge!

Really annoyed with myself

OK, yesterday was a VERY bad day for me - And yes it came in threes.

Firstly, I cooked roast duck for dinner. Half way through cooking, I had to turn the duck around, so out we poped it from the oven to find that I had left the plastic tray bit on the bottom of it. Luckily that never caught on fire or I would have been in deep do do!

Then, after dinner, I thought I would go and have a play with some of my new crafting stuff - For once this year I felt in the mood to do something crafty! Up I goes to my craft room, with a glass of rose wine.. And yes, you guessed it. I spilt it all over my LAPTOP! :( I have only had the laptop about 3 months now and it wouldnt turn on after a quick dry. I have left it open on its side to see if we can dry it out, but I dont hold much luck with it, being as the wine was coming out from the DVD/CD disk drive! The frustrating thing is, I told myself to move it because I could see it falling over. And yes, the two cards that I managed to make got splotted with wine to!

And lastly, after that event, I thought I would come down and watch a bit of TV. And Alex drops his glass of wine all over the carpet - BEIGE carpet I must add!

So, Only time will tell if the laptop works - A colleague said I should submit a claim on our house insurance even if the laptop is working because although it may work now, it might not in a few weeks...

Can I SCREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM yet!?

I will try and keep up with you all - I can access blogger and craft bubble from work so not all is bad - I guess!

Changes to my blog

Hmmm.. I am still not happy with the way my blog looks. I used to get my templates from Template Mama but I think she is having a break from making them. Oh well, this one will have to make do for now! If you have any ideas on how I can make my own templates, please let me know. I have had a little play but not happy with any of them I have done!

Another post from me!

With 3 more cards that I have put together today! I am quite pleased with my efforts today..

Another valentines day card! I love this frog - He is soo cute! (No sentiment as I only put sentiments on when someone has bought it - That way its more personal!)

Challenges:
NONE! :)

--------------------

This one, I was just playing about with my new pro markers and posh papers (They are coredinations gem ones I think..)

Challenges:
NONE! :)

--------------------

And lastly this one...

This one has done my nut in! Have you ever made a card where when you stick the paper down, its NEVER straight? Well, the 6x6 card stock pack I bought, is not cut straight, so I have had to cut it myself, aswell as the card blank so it didnt look out of shape! What a NIGHTMARE! Again, no sentiments - And organised as this is my first christmas card of 2010! Early or what eh!

Challenges:
Dare you to Digi Stamp - Last minute/early christmas cards
I [heart] ProMarkers - Spots and Stripes

Well, I wont be back again today as I have work tomorrow! *YAWN* so TTFN xx

2 cards and a monkey!

I have had a bit of peace and quiet today as Alex went back to work, so I have spent some time in my craft room!

These are todays creations!

I used my new stamp from Lelo Designs, which I love!
Coloured him in using my Koh I Noor pencils and Sansador.

Challenges:
ABC Challenge (The backing paper contains kisses)
Allsorts Challenge (Sketch & New/old - Mine being new stamp!)

I have made this next card for my mums Boyf's mum, Helen, who we stay with when we visit. This is my first attempt at an easel card, and it deffo wont be my last! (I have cheated though, I used two 6x6 cards instead of cutting card!).

Challenges:

Moving along with the Times - Sketch that has been used before - I chose Challenge 19

And finally, my little brothers sock monkey!

I am in the process of making myself one, and I have set up an exchange for these cuties on Craft Bubble. If you wish to join in my exchange, please email me for more details! (katie@sainty.co.uk)
