Made a start on my Calendars!

Ok, so I have made a little start! I have sketched out my calendar designs! I done them in Photoshop, and have decided to do the calendars 6"x6". They are all using near enough the same sketch, here they are:

I will be adding various brads and embelleshments to jazz them up abit, and have decided to Google what their names mean! I thought that would be nice! Now just gotta decide on what images to use for each of them, and what colour schemes. Constructive Critizuims (sp?!) welcome!

Magnolia Stamp Club...

I was thinking about joining the Magnolia Stamp Club and buying the quarterly subscription (the one thats £24 or so). I was just wondering what does everyone think about the service and stamps themselves? I havent got any of the Magnolia Range, and thought at £24 every quarter, its not actually that bad!

Would love to hear your comments, and advice :) I have never bought anything from abroad before so its all new to me!

I got back from shopping, and was sooo cold that I am sat under the duvet on the sofa, and instead of just watching tele or cross stitching, I have decided to have another go with making background papers. This is what I have come up with so far, and I think they look quite good (Big head syndrome lol). What do you guys think?

I am on a roll today! :) Im glad my crafty bug has finally come back, I was begining to wonder where it had gone! Anyway, heres another two cards I have quickly put together:

I have also been asked to make a special christmas card for a lady at work (Her parents) and I wonder if anyone had any ideas? I have never made cards for anyone to give away before, so this is a new one on me, and I dont want it to look pathetic!

Another from me!

This one, is my first EVER! stamped image! I am quite pleased with the way it came out, although you cant see the penguins eyes in the photo, you can in real life! (I will scan it in later!). The thing that inspired me to make this card is over on Craft Bubble, there is a challenge where you use as much glitter/sparkle as you like! And I thought the the penguins would look quite cute holding sparkly baubles and lights! I have used some red cardstock for the actual card, some gold paper that I bought yonks ago and mounted the image on some more of the red cardstock. Coloured the penguins in using Whispers, stuck a few peel off's on, added a bit of ribbon and the gold things that look like brads are actually called Zooms from Stamping Galaxy.

Ok, so I have decided to make all the girls I work with a desk top calendar each as a little gift for christmas. As there are only 5 of us, I should be able to get this sorted by christmas. Having a play

Sorry I havent been around much..

this week, have been baking and trying to finish a cross stitch for a christmas exchange I am in! Its gotta be posted by Dec 1st, so really need to crack on with it, although I am over half way through it now. For obvious reasons, I cant post a photo, but will do when the reveal has been made!

Have been making an effort to try and get Christmas pressies sorted! Have sorted both my nieces, gotta get my Brother a MP3 player, have got Alex a few little bits and gotta get his main present - His driving experience! Not sure what I am getting for Christmas from Alex, I have listed a few bits that I want, but he is a last minute person and proberly wont get them til Christmas eve... Got majority of my pressies wrapped up to, so all organised this year!

Just got a couple of Secret Santa's to sort out for stitchy friends, and then I will be running a competition on the Lighter Side Cross Stitch forum, to win £10 worth of goodies so if you fancy your chance, please feel free to join up and join in (Link on righthand side of my blog).

Anyway, I have done some colouring in of my stamped images, as Alex bought me some Whispers pens (all 36!) so hopefully at the weekend, I will update my blog with some cards - Thats long overdue!

I have been busy baking today!

Ive made a chocolate fridge cake with cherrys and mixed fruit in, and some ginger bread men - Its Children in Need Week at work!

My first lot of ginger bread men, I wasnt sure about because the mixture was way to dry. So I googled another recipe and used my initiative and the second lot are brill! They taste rather yummy to! I decided instead of using the icing writing to colour the bandages in, Ive cut out some roll icing and used the writing icing for the dots. Am quite pleased with them even if I do say so myself!



Will let you know how much we raise when the week is up (And how many pounds I put on after this week too lol)

Trying to hunt down...

I am looking for scalloped circles/ovals with the white middle bit. Have had a look on a couple of websites but cant seem to find any, and I dont have a die cutting machine myself. If anyone knows where I can get some, please can you let me know?
