GRRRR a bit of a rant!

Sorry guys, I am using this as a bit of a rant!

I posted an item out on October 1st to someone from UKScrappers. Got proof of postage etc. Item STILL hasnt turned up. Was in a massive box so I dont know how it has gotten lost! Anway, I have asked the buyer to bare with me while I put a claim in with Royal Mail as from my understanding, she will have to sign a consent form to say she hasnt recieved the items. Last night, I get a Paypal invoice from her, requesting I send her the payment back. I can understand her point of view, but there has been a lot of cases on UKS where people have re-funded the items, and when the buyer is contacted by RM, they dont sign the consent so the seller wont get their refund.

Now, I wouldnt have minded so much if it was for like £5 or something, but it was actually for £20! Something I could do without right on top of the big C word! I have posted about it on Money Saving Expert and most people say I am being unreasonable and to refund her now!

What do I do?! :|

I would get back to her and say once the consent form has been signed by her and you've received your refund from RM you'll gladly send her a full refund. Apologise and explain it's out of your control re the RM and that as soon as you have the refund, she will also get a refund. Most users on UKS would be more than happy with this. Tell her you'll keep her in the loop as to each stage you hear from RM, eg got the form, posted the form to her, heard back etc.

Oh - also ask her to go to her sorting office first to see if it's there. I used to use Royal Mail to deliver wedding stationery orders but stopped due to 'lost' deliveries that were actually at the sorting office and no card had been put through the recipients door!

I would wait until she signs the paper. Cover your own butt before you worry about her...
